This page is dedicated to providing brief descriptions and links to resources for both obtaining assistance for a variety of needs as well as finding outlets for participation in bettering the mental health community here in Placer County.

NETWORK of CARE PLACER

The Network of Care is a site listing many resources available in Placer County as well as throughout the State. The site can be a bit confusing to navigate and many of the resources listed there are here on this page. It is still worth checking out for possible resources. NAMI Placer

NAMI Placer County is the local chapter of NAMI and is dedicated to the support of loved ones of adult mentally ill. Additionally, this local chapter has been in the forefront of NAMI's movement toward support of the sufferer as well. Visit their site at http://www.namipc.org/Default.htm

CNMHC

The California Network of Mental Health Clients is dedicated to the improvement of services and opportunities available to sufferers of mental illness. The organization is heavily involved in a wide variety of front-line issues and advocates extensively for sufferer's rights. You can visit their site at http://www.californiaclients.org/

UACF

United Advocated for Children and Families is an organization dedicated to assisting the loved ones of minor children with mental illness. UACF also provides advocates through the Placer County Adult and Children Systems of Care. Their job is to assist family members in navigating the public mental health system as well as find resources outside of county services. You can visit their site at http://www.uacf4hope.org/

AMI HOUSING

AMIH is a non-profit organization serving mental health clients of the Placer County Adult System of Care, who are in need of housing. At their site you can obtain contact numbers to help you obtain more information on this program. Visit http://www.amihousing.org/

PLACER WELCOME CENTER

The Welcome Center is a fun place where anyone can drop-in to enjoy a safe, warm, friendly atmosphere. We are a consumer run program that is structured by the needs/wants of the community. The programs available are created by the participants for people to enjoy and learn. Participants of the Welcome Center believe each individual can grow in confidence, have the ability to develop and utilize healthy relationships, and discover their own abilities and talents. GOLDEN SIERRA EMPLOYMENT

Golden Sierra employment services provide services for assisting individuals in finding and keeping employment. They have a youth program for ages 14-21 and their site contains information about the Youth Council. A great place to get started in searching for employment and training. GIVE ASSISTANCE

CCW

The Campaign for Community Wellness is a committee which meets the last Friday of every month alternating between locations in Auburn and Roseville. The committee is dedicated to helping direct the future of Placer County's Mental Health system. Meetings are open to the public and are a great way to start getting plugged into Placer's mental health community. You can visit their site at http://www.campaignforcommunitywellness.org/

PLACER MHADB

The mission of the Placer County Mental Health, Alcohol and Drug Board is to promote citizen and consumer participation in planning, providing and evaluating the mental health systems of care; assist in establishing measurable client and system outcomes; review and make recommendations to the annual performance contract; and advise the Board of Supervisors on issues relevant to the mental health services that are provided to the priority populations of the County. Meetings are open to the public and currently there are several vacant seats on the board.
